Safety Skills

Safety skills are an important part of helping children with autism become more independent, confident, and able to participate safely at home, school, and in the community. Safety instruction should be individualized, practiced repeatedly, and taught using the child’s communication style (spoken language, visuals, gestures, AAC, modeling, etc.).
